Game 7- New Hats - No Bats

This one goes down as Unlucky 7 for the Crew. Overall a decently played game but with some unfortunate combinations of circumstance that prevented us from taking the 'W'.

Plays of note:
• Graske's overthrow recovery and searing throwout to Borer at 3rd.
• Behr-Krull-Ireton milisecond double play.
• Borer-Krull rundown at 2nd.
Hats off to you gentlemen!

Wonder Blunders:
• With impressive, true grit hustle, Jamie V's attempt to stretch a bobbled single into a double ended up being a pretzel logic slam dance at 2nd and damn near the first Oweee of the season.
*Note to Vanbuskirk; High caliber pitchers such as yourself SHOULD NOT put themselves in such precarious positions unless absolutely necessary! For the team, you are better off out and safe than safe but out.
• My leadoff hit beginning a last ditch rally ended with Derick's bullseye shot to my right toe. This less than stellar hit combined with my lack of sufficient hesitation and Castanza like reflexes, cost an out that cut our comeback short.
We won't get fooled again!

After that...our 'D' held but our sticks were just plain shitty. The Irish are a decent team so let's just chalk this one up as 'the humbler'. I feel confident we'll win our next meeting if we can hit just a little bit better.
Have a good weekend guys.

Special Note:
Mike Currie is your coach for this Sunday's game and rumor has it that Jon 'The Whipping Post' Behr will lead off.

Game 6?- Charlie (Fearless Leader) Funderburk Drops Ball

Due to unforseen 'cut and paste' problems with Charlie's schedule and subsequent failure to notify at least 2 teams.........we missed our start time. The official ruling is a Funder fuckup and a 'NO GAME'. Although we did get in a few innings and were down by 1 at the time the game was called, technically the game never happened. The game with Flint Hill will be made up but the point is moot. It will go down as a win regardless of what happens since all Flint Hill games are forfeited before they begin. Case Closed.

Who's bringing the beer Wed?
